Have you submitted your talk for this year WP Accessibility Day 2023 yet?
Well, what are you waiting for!?
Our Call for Speakers is only open until June 11th extended until June 18th, so there’s just a little under two weeks left to get your submission in.
If you want to present, but haven’t figured out what you want to make your talk about, then I’m here to help!
First off, to get those ideas flowing, you may want to check out to 2020 line up and the 2022 schedule of presentations.
Now, with those talks in mind, we want to refine and guide your creative process just a bit for 2023.
This year we are hoping to feature presentation that are very focused towards one specific aspect of accessibility.
We’d like to have less broad topic conversations, and more concise and targeted talks.
Think for example talks like Much Ado About Captioning Videos for WordPress and Beyond by Meryl K. Evans in 2020, or last year’s talk by Nikole Garcia and Annie Heckel – Developing Accessibility-First WordPress Themes.
These are solid examples of great accessibility talks that are narrowly focused on a single topic. Also, all talks definitely do not have to be developer focused! So don’t worry if your presentation is not a technical aspect of accessibility, we want to feature all levels of talks for WP Accessibility Day.
Keep in mind, each speaker will only have 45 minutes to share their expertise with the world. The best use of your time to provide as much value as possible with the viewers is to stay honed in on your topic and go deep into the knowledge base on it.
There are a lot of aspects of website accessibility to focus on, here are just a few topic ideas to get you started:
- Content
- Images/Alt Text
- Forms
- ARIA
- Sales
- Clients
- Teams
- Testing
- eCommerce
Once you’re ready to submit your talk for WP Accessibility Day 2023, head on over to the Speaking page and fill out the application.
Remember, all applications must be submitted by Sunday June 11th, so don’t delay!
We look forward to hearing from you!
